UAE markets 08 Aug 2007

UAE market news & discussions for 08 August 2007 Both UAE market indicies finished up today on improved trading volumes. AIRARABIA and OILC dominated trading on DFM and ADSM repectively. Standard Chartered Bank raised its 2007 inflation forecast for the UAE to 9.3% still down from 13.8% from 2006. According to one report UAE real GDP growth rates will slow: 2006 9.7% to $163b 2007 8.0% to $182b 2008 6.9% to $195b Some fundamental forecasts with implications for share traders and investors.

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index finished stronger today at 4,273 a rise of 0.26%. 334 million shares traded worth 671 million dirhams. Fourteen shares advanced and three shares declined.
AIRARABIA topped the share trading finishing stady at 1.28 on a volume of 237 million.

Shares that rose included: ARABTEC 5.88 (3.33%), DFM 2.96 (0.68%), Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) 10.85 (0.93%), GULFNAV 1.30 (0.77%), Islamic Arab Insurance Company PSC (IAIC) 3.25 (3.50%) and Tamweel PJSC (TAMWEEL) 4.13 (1.72%).

Shares that declined included Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) 8.10 (4.705), National Bank of Dubai (NBD) 9.05 (1.63%) and Shuaa Capital PJSC (SHUAA) 5.00 (0.19%).

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index finished stronger today at 3,481 a rise of 0.24%. 176 million shares traded worth 468 million dirhams. Twenty one shares advanced and ten declined.
Oasis International Leasing Company PJSC (OILC) dominated trading finishing 2.61% up at 1.57 on a volume of 86 million.

Other shares to rise included: Aldar Properties PJSC (ALDAR) 6.88 (1.93%), ARKAN 1.69 (0.60%), Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) 1.63 (1.24%) and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 4.51 (0.89%).

Shares to decline on small volumes included: Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) 2.23 (0.45%) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 6.41 (0.31%).
