UAE market news & discussions for 31 October 2010

UAE stock indices fell although there were several stocks with significant gains on relatively active trading. On the Nasdaq Dubai, Depa rose 1.5%, and DP World fell 1.2%.

    Dubai stocks fell 0.71% to 1765 points from trading worth AED 267m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the most active stock, down 1.5% to 3.85 from AED 54m. Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) and Al Madina Finance (ALMADINA) were the top gainers, both closing 15% limit up with no sellers in the queue. HITS Telecom rose 10.9%, Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) closed 5% limit up, Dubai Islamic Insurance (AMAN) rose 4.5%, and the other gainers were up less than 1% or on thin trading. Dar Takaful Insurance (DARTAKAFUL) was the worst loser, down 2.9% to 1.01, Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) and Arab International Logistics (ARMX) fell 2.8%, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 1.6%, Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) 1.5%, and the other losers were down by less than 1.5%.

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

    Abu Dhabi stocks fell marginally by 0.03% to 2816 points from trading worth AED 183m with Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) the most active stock, up 5.4% to 0.99 from AED 28m. Top gainers, all with 10% limit up closing prices, were Al Dhafra Insurance (DHAFRA) from just one trade, Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ), Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC), and Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN). First Gulf Bank (FGB) rose 2.7%, and the other gainers were up less than 1.5% or on thin trading. Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) was the worst of the more active losers, down 1.9% to 0.50, Agthia Group (AGTHIA) fell 1.8%, Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) 1.3%, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 1.2%, and the other losers fell on thin trading.

    UAE market news & discussions for 28 October 2010

    UAE stocks rose in Dubai but fell slightly in Abu Dhabi. On the Nasdaq Dubai, DP World fell 0.17%, Depa rose 3.0%, and Damas rose 6.7%.

    Dubai stocks rose 2.6% to 1777 points from trading worth AED 277m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the only stock trading more than AED 100m worth, up 3.4% to 3.91 from AED 106m. Al Madina Finance (ALMADINA) was the top gainer, up 10.2% to 0.58, Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) rose 5.8%, Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) closed 5% limit up, Emirates NBD (ENBD) rose 4.8%, HITS Telecom 4.1%, and the other gainers were up less than 4%. Global Investment House (GLOBAL) was the only loser, down 9.9% to 0.82 from thin trading.

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

    Abu Dhabi stocks fell 0.19% to 2817 points from trading worth AED 214m with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) the most active stock, up 0.39% to 2.61 from AED 42m. Abu Dhabi National Insurance (ADNIC) was the worst loser, down 5.7% to 6.45, Al Buhaira National Insurance (ABNIC) fell 2.5%, Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) 2.0%, and the other losers were down less than 1.5% or on thin trading. Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) and Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) were the top gainers, both closing 10% limit up with no sellers in the queue. Al Dhafra Insurance (DHAFRA) rose 5.1%, Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN) 4.6%, Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) 4.55%, and the other gainers were up less than 2% or on thin trading. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) fell 1.3%, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was unchanged.

    UAE market news & discussions for 27 October 2010

    UAE stocks fell overall, although there were some notable gainers. On the Nasdaq Dubai, DP World was unchanged, and Depa fell 1.5%.

    Dubai stocks fell 0.70% to 1732 points from trading worth AED 198m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the most active stock, down 1.6% to 3.78 from AED 46m. Al Salam Bank Sudan (ALSALAMSUDAN) was the worst loser, down 6.9% to 1.76, Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) fell 5.5%, Gulf Navigation (GULFNAV) was down 3.2%, and the other losers fell less than 3%. Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) was the top gainer, 5% limit up at 0.78, Emirates NBD (ENBD) rose 3.0%, Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) 2.5%, and the other gainers were up less than 2.5%.

    Abu Dhabi stocks fell 0.14% to 2822 points from trading worth AED 276m with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) the most actively traded stock, down 1.15% to 2.58 from AED 58m. Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) was the worst of the more active losers, down 1.7% to 1.74, Dana Gas (DANA), Waha Capital (OILC), and First Gulf Bank (FGB) fell 1.2%, and the other stocks were down less than 1% or on thin trading. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ), Al Khazna Insurance (AKIC), and Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) were the top gainers, all closing 10% limit up. Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN) rose 4.8%, Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) was up 4.0%, National Marine Dredging (NMDC) 3.5%, and the other gainers rose less than 3%.

    Dubai stocks fell 0.50% to 1745 points from AED 130m worth of trading with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the most actively traded stock, down 1.0% to 3.84 from AED 35m. Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) was the worst loser, down 2.3% to 0.38, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) fell 2.3%, and the other losers were down less than 2%. Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) was the top gainer, 5% limit up to 0.74, Emirates NBD (ENBD) rose 1.3%, and the other gainers were up less than 1% or on thin trading.

Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) was the best of the more active gainers, closing 10% limit up at 5.85. Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADAVIATION) rose 6.8%, Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) was up 3.75%, Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) 3.6%, and the other gainers were up less than 3% or on thin trading.
