UAE market news & discussions for 05 August 2007

An extremely lacklustre day of trading on both markets. Despite the volatility through the trading session both market indicies finished marginally down.
Trading on the DFM was overwhelmingly dominated by AIRARABIA comprising over 80% of all trades and finishing down 1.65% at 1.19 dirhams.

On the ADSM, OILC was the top traded share finishing unchanged at 1.51 dirhams.

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index finished at 4,238 a fall of 0.32% from Thursdays close. 256 million shares traded worth 516 million dirhams. Eight shares advanced and twelve declined.
AIRARABIA continues to dominate trading comprising over 80% of all shares traded on the DFM, finishing at 1.19 a fall of 1.65%.

Other shares to decline included DFM 2.93 (0.67%), Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) 10.70 (1.38%) and National General Cooling Company PJSC (TABREED) 2.51 (0.39%).

Shares that rose included ARABTEC 5.65 (0.89%), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 9.97 (0.30%) and UNION 3.26 (0.61%)

GULFNAV finished steady at 1.26 on volume of 9 million shares traded.

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index finished at 3,448 a fall of 0.06% from Thursday close. 35 million shares traded worth 104 million dirhams. Ten shares advanced and twenty five declined.
Oasis International Leasing Company PJSC (OILC) was the top traded share finishing steady at 1.51 dirhams on 16 million shares traded.

Shares that rose included: Emirates Telecommunications Company (ETISALAT) 17.65 (1.15%), Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) 2.21 (0.45%), QCEM 2.25 (9.76%).

Shares that declined included: ABAR 3.55 (1.11%), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 6.25 (1.11%), Aldar Properties PJSC (ALDAR) 6.68 (0.45%), Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 4.48 (0.22%)
