UAE markets 01 Aug 2007

UAE market news & discussions for 01 August 2007 Consistent with the flip flop summer scene both markets in the UAE fell today after yesterdays rise. The DFM index finished down 0.82% and the ADSM index down 0.99%. Volume traded was modest for both markets. On the DFM, AIRARABIA continues to dominate trading representing over 50% of shares traded. On the ADSM, ADCB continues its slide closing another 3.91% down at 6.15 dirhams.

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index closed at 4,238 today a fall of 0.82% from yesterdays close. 202 million shares traded worth 571 million dirhams. Five shares advanced and seventeen declined.
AIRARABIA was the top traded share closing at 1.13 a rise of 1.80% on turnover of 108 million shares.

Other shares to increase on modest volumes included Shuaa Capital PJSC (SHUAA) 5.00 (1.01%), DRC 12.60 (5.00%), GCICO 7.98 (1.34%), National Bank of Dubai (NBD) 9.15 (1.66%).

Shares that declined included ARABTEC 5.61 (2.43%), DFM 2.95 (1.66%), Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) 10.70 (1.83%), GULFNAV 1.25 (2.34%) and ARAMEX 2.47 (3.51%).

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index closed at 3,445 today a fall of 0.99% from yesterdays close. 68 million shares traded worth 284 million dirhams. Ten shares advanced and twenty nine declined.
Top trading volume was shared by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 6.15 (3.91%), Aldar Properties PJSC (ALDAR) 6.83 (0.15%) and ARKAN 1.59 (2.45%) all finishing down.

Other shares to finish down included Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) 1.59 (0.63%), Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 4.48 (1.32%).

Shares that finished higher included Sudan Telecom Company Ltd (SUDATEL) 7.83 (0.13%), Union National Bank (UNB) 7.61 (0.13%), NBQ 4.95 (10%) and EIC 11.50 (5.50%) on one trade of one share.
