UAE markets 06 Aug 2007

UAE market news & discussions for 06 August 2007 Another subdued days trading today on UAE markets with the DFM and ADSM index both finishing slightly higher on modest volumes. AIRARABIA continues to dominate trading on the DFM finishing 2.52% up at 1.22 dirhams with 124 million shares traded. On the ADSM, ARKAN topped trading finishing 3.14% up at 1.64 dirhams on turnover of 40 million shares.

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index finished at 4,247 a rise of 0.22% from the previous close. 192 million shares traded worth 444 million dirhams. Five shares advanced and thirteen declined.
AIRARABIA topped the trading finishing at 1.22 an increase of 2.52% on 124 million shares traded. This represented approx 75% of all shares traded.

Other shares to increase included Emaar 10.75 (0.46%) and GULFNAV 1.27 (0.79%).

Shares that declined included DFM 2.92 (0.34%), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 9.95 (0.20%), Tamweel PJSC (TAMWEEL) 4.01 (0.49%) and Dubai Investments PJSC (DIC) 4.55 (0.65%)

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index finished at 3,460 a rise of 0.32% from the previous close. 100 million shares traded worth 225 million dirhams. Twenty four shares advanced and twelve declined.
ARKAN topped the trading finishing at 1.64 an increase of 3.14% on 40 million shares traded.

Other shares to increase included Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) 1.60 (1.27%), Oasis International Leasing Company PJSC (OILC) 1.53 (1.32%) and Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) 2.23 (0.91%).

Two shares declined on significant volume: Aldar Properties PJSC (ALDAR) 6.63 (0.75%) and Ras Al Khaimah Properties PJSC (RAKPROP) 1.57 (0.63%).
