UAE market news & discussions for 16 November 2009The ADX fell slightly, by 0.20% to 2967 points from low turnover of AED 167m. The DFM was more encouraging with a 1.6% rise to 2198.5 points from turnover of AED 496m. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1430 UAE time, only DP World and Depa have traded so far, both unchanged from yesterday. Arab International Logistics (ARMX) stood out as the top gainer, rising 5.2%, ahead of Emaar in second place. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) rose 2.2%, Emirates NBD (ENBD) was up 2.0%, and the remaining gainers were up less than 2%. Global Investment House (GLOBAL) was the worst loser, falling 7.8%, but from low volumes. Dar Takaful Insurance (DARTAKAFUL) was the worst loser on more than AED 1m worth of deals, down 1.35% to 2.20. Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) fell 1.3%, and the other 3 losers fell less than 1% or on low volumes. Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeAldar Properties (ALDAR) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi but still only traded AED 58m worth as it gained 0.33% to close at 6.00. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) and National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCTH) were the the top gainers, closing 10% limit up. Waha Capital (OILC) was up 1.0%, and the other 9 gainers rose less than 1% or on thin trading, including Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) both up about 0.3%. Emirates Driving Company (DRIVE) was the worst loser, falling 8.2% but from just one trade. Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) was the worst of the more active losers, down 2.4% to 1.20, Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) fell 1.5%, Sudan Telecom (SUDATEL) 1.3%, and the remaining losers were down less than 1% or on low volumes. National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) closed 0.75% lower at 13.30, and Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) was unchanged at 11.45. | |
