UAE market news & discussions for 02 November 2009The ADX rose 2.0% to 2978 points from turnover of AED 293m. The DFM bounced back by about the same amount it fell yesterday, on increased turnover, rising 5.2% to 2185 points from AED 893m of trading. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1415 UAE time, DP World is up 3.25%, Damas is up 1.7%, Depa is up 0.13%, Boulder Steel plummeted 33% but from just one trade, and several derivatives have seen a trade. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) also traded over AED 100m, rising 8.9% to 2.33 from AED 149m worth of deals. Top gainer was Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) closing 15% limit up from greater than usual trading, followed by Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) up 10.4% and Gulf Finance House (GFH) up by 9.6%. Drake & Scull (DSI) rose 8.2%, National General Cooling (TABREED) 7.7%, Arabtec (ARTC) 7.3%, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) 7.0%, and most other stocks were up between 4% and 7% or on low volumes. There were 5 losers, including Kuwait Finance and Investment (KFIC) and Al Madina Finance (ALMADINA) 10% limit down, but none traded more than AED 1m worth. Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeAldar Properties (ALDAR) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi with AED 96m worth of deals and a 4.3% rise to 5.68. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) stood out with a 10% limit up close at 2.01 and no sellers in the queue. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) and Waha Capital (OILC) also closed 10% limit up with no sellers. Agthia Group (AGTHIA) was up 5.6%, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 4.9%, Union National Bank (UNB) 4.65%, Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) 4.2%, and the remaining gainers rose by less than 4% or on low volumes. There were 5 losers including Fujairah National Bank (NBF) 10% limit down but from just one small trade. Sharjah Islamic Bank (NBS) was the only loser trading more than AED 1m as it fell by 1.8%. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) rose 1.3%, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) rose 3.1%. | |
