UAE market news & discussions for 15 November 2009The ADX rose marginally, up 0.17% to 2973 points from low turnover of AED 144m. The DFM didn't move much either, closing 0.13% down at 2164 points, also from relatively low turnover of AED 365m. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1445 UAE time, Depa is unchanged, DP World is down 0.21%, and Damas is up 3.85%. Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) was the best gainer on more than AED 1m worth of deals, rising 2.7% to 1.54. Dar Takaful Insurance (DARTAKAFUL) was up 1.8%, Dubai Islamic Insurance (AMAN) 1.7%, Emirates NBD (ENBD) 1.6%, and the remaining gainers were up less than 1.5% or on low volumnes. Air Arabia (AIRARABIA) was the worst loser, falling 1.85% to 1.06 after releasing confusing profit figures yesterday. Gulf Finance House (GFH) was down 1.4%, Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) 1.35%, Dubai Financial Market (DFM) 1.3%, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) 1.15%, National General Cooling (TABREED) 1.1%, and Union Properties (UPP) only 1.0% despite reporting a loss for the third quarter. Another 4 losers fell less than 1%. Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeSorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi, but still only saw AED 50m worth of deals, and fell 0.29% to 3.35. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) was the top gainer, closing 10% limit up at 4.13, National Corporation for Tourism & Hotels (NCTH) was also 10% limit up but from just a couple of trades. Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN) rose 2.9%, Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) was up 2.5%, and the remaining gainers were up less than 2% or on thin trading. International Fish Farming (ASMAK) was the worst loser, 10% limit down to 16.90 but from just one trade. Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) was the worst of the more active losers, down 2.2% to 1.32, Umm Al Quwain Cement (QCEM) fell 1.4%, and the remaining losers fell less than 1% or on low volumes. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) was down 0.86%, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) rose 1.9%. | |
