UAE market news & discussions for 03 August 2009The ADX rose 0.71% to 2839 points from turnover of AED 386m with Taqa and Aabar both showing solid gains, while the DFM jumped a solid 3.6% to 1885 points from turnover of AED 750m, led by an 8.5% increase in Emaar shares. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 15:00 UAE time, DP World is down 5.4%, Depa is unchanged, and there have been several different derivative trades in Dana Gas, all in the green. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) shares were the only other ones trading more than AED 100m worth, and rose 4.05% to 1.80. Almost all actively traded stocks were in the green, including Union Properties (UPP) up 5.7%, Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) up 5.1%, and Emirates NBD (ENBD) 5% limit up with no sellers. Most other gainers rose between 2% and 5%. Air Arabia (AIRARABIA) was unchanged at 1.01, and Al Firdous Holdings (ALFIRDOUS) (-3.2%) and the almost never traded Dubai Refreshments (DRC) (-4.8%) were the only two losers. Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeDana Gas (DANA) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi with AED 80m worth of deals but price was unchanged at 1.19. Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) was the best gainer, closing 10% limit up at 1.77 with no sellers in the queue. Emirates Driving Company (DRIVE) was also 10% limit up but saw little trading activity. Other gainers included Aabar Energy (AABAR) up 6.6%, Agthia Group (AGTHIA) up 4.8%, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) up 4.7%, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) up 4.15%, Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) up 4.0%, and the remaining gainers up less than 4% or on low volumes. Emirates Insurance (EIC) 10% limit down was the worst of the losers but that was from just one small trade. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), down 1.4% to 2.95, was the only loser trading more than AED 1m worth. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) fell 0.97% to 10.25 from low volumes, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) rose 0.74% to 13.90. | |
