UAE market news & discussions for 01 October 2009The ADX rose 0.44% to 3138 points from AED 493m worth of deals and the DFM rose marginally, by 0.16% to 2195 points from turnover a little under AED 1 billion. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1415 UAE time, DP World is down 1.6%, Depa is down 1.3%, Boulder Steel is down 9.1%, DGS is up 1%, Damas is down 2.5%, and there have been a couple of Arabtec derivative trades, down 1.2%. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) was the only other stock with more than AED 100m worth of turnover, unchanged at 2.38 from AED 168m. Gulf Navigation (GULFNAV) was the best of the more active gainers, rising 2.4% to 0.84. Dar Takaful Insurance (DARTAKAFUL) was up 1.9%, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (DU) up 1.6%, and Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) up 1.2%. Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) fell 1.6%, the worst of the more active stocks, and Gulf Finance House (GFH) was 10% limit down on low volumes. All other actively traded stocks rose or fell less than 1% or were unchanged. Al Mazaya Holding (MAZAYA) was 15% limit up from one small trade, and Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) rose 10.5% from greater than usual activity but still only about AED 1m worth. Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeAldar Properties (ALDAR) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi and the only one trading more than AED 100m worth, rising 1.8% to 6.17 from AED 112m worth of deals. Aabar Energy (AABAR) was the best of the busier stocks, rising 3.85% to 2.71, Bank of Sharjah (BOS) rose 2.4%, Invest Bank (INVESTB) 2.15%, Waha Capital (OILC) 2.1%, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) 2.0%, and the remaining gainers were up less than 2% or on low volumes. There were 8 losers including National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) down 2.55%, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) down 1.2%, and Union National Bank (UNB) down 0.23%. THe other 5 losers fell on low volumes. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) rose 0.83% to 12.30. | |
