UAE market news & discussions for 15 July 2009UAE markets rose again today, not as dramatically as yesterday, but volumes were slightly higher in Dubai, and most stocks were in the green. The ADX was up 1.1% to 2637 points from turnover of AED 155m, almost the same as yesterday's turnover. The DFM rose 1.15% to 1712 points from turnover of AED 530m. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 14:30 UAE time, DP World is up 3.3%, Damas up 4.2% from just one trade, Depa is unchanged, and there has been a trade in ADCB derivatives, up 3.3%. Dubai Financial MarketEmaar Properties (EMAAR) with a slight gain of 0.81% to 2.49, was the most active stock with turnover of AED 118m. Arabtec (ARTC), rising a solid 5.3% to 2.57, was almost as busy with turnover of AED 113m and the only other stock trading more than AED 100m. Almost all traded stocks were in the green with Dubai Islamic Insurance (AMAN) the best gainer, rising 13.4% to 1.27 on news of 2Q results. Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) was up 7.4% to 1.16, Shuaa Capital (SHUAA) rose 3.65%, Union Properties (UPP) 3.5%, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) 3.0%, and the remainder up less than 3%. Dar Takaful Insurance (DARTAKAFUL), down just 0.47% on low volumes, was the only loser, and Global Investment House (GLOBAL) was unchanged on a single small trade. Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Aldar Properties (ALDAR), up 3.0% to 3.52, and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH), up 1.65% to 2.51, were the two most active stocks in Abu Dhabi but neither traded more than AED 50m. Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) rose 1.5% to 0.69 after releasing their second quarter results. Qatar Telecom (QTEL) (+9.7%) and Al Khazna Insurance (AKIC) (+8.3%) were the top gainers on low volumes, Agthia Group (AGTHIA) (+7.1%) was the best of the more active stocks, followed by First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC), both up +5.3%, and Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) up by 3.4%. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) rose 0.5%, National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) rose 1.5%, and other gainers rose less than 3% or on low volumes. There were only 3 losers today: Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (JULPHAR) and Union Insurance (UNION) 10% limit down from a single small trade each, and Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) down just 0.87% from low volumes. | |
