UAE market news & discussions for 06 July 2009 Stocks continued to see red today, especially in Dubai. The ADX fell 0.44% to 2625 points from AED 150m of turnover, while the DFM fell 2.0% to 1721 points from turnover of AED 347m. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 14:30 UAE time, DP World is down 2.25%, Damas and Depa are unchanged, and no other listings have traded. Dubai Financial Market No stocks saw trading of more than AED 100m in the UAE, Emaar Properties (EMAAR) was the most active stock with AED 90m but not the worst loser, falling 4.6% to 2.48. Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM) was the worst of the more actively traded stocks with a 7.3% fall to 1.53, followed by Deyaar Development (DEYAAR) and Shuaa Capital (SHUAA) both down more than 5%. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Dubai Islamic Insurance (AMAN) fell 4.3%, Arabtec (ARTC) 4.15%, and most other stocks fell less than 4% or on low volumes. There were only two gainers, Arab International Logistics (ARMX) up 1.5%, and Emirates NBD (ENBD) up 0.58%. Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Dana Gas (DANA) was the most active stock in Abu Dhabi with AED 43m worth of deals and a 2.7% fall to 1.03. No other stocks saw more than AED 20m worth of trading. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) was the worst of the more active stocks with a fall of 6.55% to 5.05, followed by Aabar Energy (AABAR) down 5.1%. Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) fell 3.4%, Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) and Green Crescent Insurance (GCIC) fell 3.3%, and most other stocks were down less than 3% or on low volumes. National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was down just 0.2%, Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT), First Gulf Bank (FGB), and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) all closed unchanged. There were 8 gainers but only 2 on trading of more than AED 1m: National Bank of Umm Al Quwain (NBQ) up 4.3%, and Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) up 2.1%. | |
