UAE market news & discussions for 12 February 2009 UAE fourth quarter results - table of financial results so far, with dividend and AGM information UAE financial news - latest news from Reuters, Bloomberg and UAE media Sharewadi calendar - important dates Dubai Financial Market Another positive trading day on UAE markets as both indicies closed higher on increasing volumes. The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) index closed 1.36% higher at 1,508 with 502 million shares traded worth Dh583 million. Trading was centred on Arabtec (ARTC) up 11.11% to 1.30, Dubai Financial Market (DFM) up 4.71% to 1.11, Dubai Investment Company (DIC) up 14.28% to 1.04 and Emaar Properties (EMAAR) down 0.49% to 2.00. Emaar Properties (EMAAR) results were released after trading closed confirming further write downs from the USA and a full year 2008 operating result 15% less than 2007. With the write down EPS fell to DH0.50 for 2008. The ADX index closed 0.09% up at 2,254 with 147 million shares traded worth Dh291 million. Among the banks Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) was up 6.18% but First Gulf Bank (FGB) fell 1.02%. Realestate continued its run with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) up 5.44% and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) up 2.54%. The Energy sector was also strong lead by Aabar Energy (AABAR) up 7.41%, Dana Gas (DANA) up 3.57% and Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) up 6.42%. In construction Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN) fell 3.70% but Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) rose 5.98%. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) closed flat at 10.00. Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange
