UAE market news & discussions for 24 June 2008Another day of capitulation on UAE markets today. The DFM index was down more than one percent to close at 5,459 below the crucial 5,500 level. The value of shares traded was just over one billion dirhams. AJMANBANK continued its slide falling a further 14.83% to 2.87 dirhams on 80 million shares traded. |

Dubai Financial Market
The DFM index closed at 5,459 a fall of 1.14% from the previous close. 275 million shares traded worth 1.1 billion dirhams. Four shares advanced and twenty three declined.
AJMANBANK was the top traded share falling a further 14.83% to 2.87 dirhams on turnover of 80 million shares.
Other shares to fall included: AIRARABIA 1.85 (2.11%), DEYAAR 2.10 (2.77%), DFM 5.12 (4.11%), Emaar Properties (EMAAR) 10.95 (0.45%) and Tamweel (TAMWEEL) 7.73 (3.37%).
Emirates NBD (ENBD) up 0.42% to 11.90 was the only share to rise on significant volume.
Abu Dhabi Securities Market
The ADX index closed at 4,998 a fall of 0.77% from the previous close. 186 million shares traded worth 1 billion dirhams. Nine shares advanced and thirty two declined.
The top traded share was METHAQ falling 0.96% to 6.09 dirhams on turnover of 43 million shares.
Other shares to fall included: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 6.33 (0.16%), Union National Bank (UNB) 9.15 (1.61%), Aldar Properties (ALDAR) 12.55 (0.76%), Dana Gas (DANA) 1.98 (2.46%), ARKAN 6.01 (0.66%) and Etisalat (ETISALAT) 19.75 (0.75%).
Shares to rise included: First Gulf Bank (FGB) 26.35 (0.57%) and National Marine Dredging (NMDC) 12.55 (9.13%).
