Dubai Financial Market
The DFMGI crept ahead by just 0.14% to 5466 with turnover of AED 1.4 billion. Tamweel (TAMWEEL) stood out with top traded value of AED 305m and a decent 2.9% rise to 7.36, while Tabreed (TABREED) soared by 6.3% to 2.69 but on less lively trading volumes.
The top gainer, GRAND, rose on a single trade of just 100 shares. Arabtec (ARTC) had a decent 5.3% rise to 12.00 but saw a good number of inside trades today. AMAN was up 3.6%, Shuaa Capital (SHUAA) and Union Properties (UPP) rose 2.4% and another 6 stocks rose between 1% and 2%.
Of the 8 losers today, Emirates NBD (ENBD) fell the most out of the more active stocks, dropping by 2.2% to 10.95. DEYAAR was down 1.65 and SALAM_BAH fell 1.5%.
Abu Dhabi Securities Market
The ADSM index rose an encouraging 1.39% to 4759 points with turnover a reasonable AED 1.15 billion. The 2 Abu Dhabi property companies, Aldar Properties (ALDAR) and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH), dominated the trading with about AED 0.5 billion of turnover between them, and both rising by about 2.8%. RAK Properties (RAKPROP) was also up there with a similar increase and turnover also fairly robust.
AKIC had an imressive 8.5% increase to 2.57 on greater than usual trading levels, and issued a statement saying they didn't know of any reason for the jump in price. NBS was also on a tear with a 7.3% increase to 2.75 from relatively high turnover. AGTHIA was the next gainer in line to stand out with a 3% rise.
RAK Bank (RAKBANK) saw some rare trading activity and rose by 2.7% to 7.15, BILDCO (BILDCO) was up 2.6%, Union Cement (UCC) up 2.5%, RAK Ceramics (RAKCEC) by 2.3%, and First Gulf Bank (FGB) fairly busy with a 2% rise to 19.90. The remaining gainers rose less than 2% or on turnover of less than AED 1 million. Etisalat (ETISALAT) was up by 1.7% to 20.85.
There were only 10 losers in Abu Dhabi today, the top three on total turnover of less than AED 300,000. NCTH had just over AED 1 m of traded value and fell 2.1% to 9.00, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) fell 1.25% and the remainder fell less than 1% or on light turnover.
