UAE market news & discussions for 01 July 2007

A steady days trading today in the UAE with both indicies finishing in positive territory.
On the DFM, GULFNAV and DFM dominated trading as did OILC on the ADSM.
The DFM announced that foreigners in the last week in June bought 861 million dirhams worth of stock comprising 24.8% of all stock traded.
In business news, UAE GDP increased by 23% in 2006 to US$163 billion and was predicted to reach US$188 bilion in 2007.
In Washington, Bush lost his Fast Track authority to negotiate trade deals calling into question the FTA with the UAE.
In Tehran traffic and pollution was reduced considerably as petrol rationing enters day five. Will Salik have the same efffect in Dubai?

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index finished the days trading at 4,437 a gain of .66% from Thursdays close. 163 million shares changed hands worth 520 million dirhams. Sixteen shares advanced and five declined.
Two shares GULFNAV 1.28 up 2.4% and DFM 3.22 up 2.32% dominated share trading comprising 75% of all trades today.

Other shares that rose on the day included Amlak Finance Company (AMLAK) 3.49 (1.45%), ARABTEC 6.00 (1.52%), WARE 21.45 (7.25%), Shuaa Capital PJSC (SHUAA) 5.18 (2.57%).

Declining shares on the day included MAZAYA 7.65 (15%) on three trades and OIC 8.55 (5%) on small volume.

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index finished the days trading at 3544 a slight gain of .33% from Thursdays close. 111 million shares changed hands worth 239 million dirhams. Twney two shares advanced and thirteen declined.
Nearly half of all shares traded were in Oasis International Leasing Company PJSC (OILC) 1.40 ending up 2.24% on the day.

Other shares that rose on the day included Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 7.21 (2.27%), AGTHIA 2.05 (2.50%), Ras Al Khaimah Properties PJSC (RAKPROP) 1.60 (2.56%) and Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) 2.47 (2.90%)

Stocks to fall on reasonable volume included Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) 1.61 (.62%), ABAR 3.17 (.31%) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) 14.45 (.34%).
