UAE market news & discussions for 25 January 2009A positive days trading on UAE markets today with both indicies rising although on modest volumes. The DFM index closed 1.08% higher at 1,488 with 211 million shares trading valued at Dh215 million. Trading was lead by DFM itself closing 8.0% down at 0.81, ARTC up 0.93% and EMAAR steady at Dh1.87. The ADX index closed 2.44% higher at 2,188 with 78 million shares traded valued at Dh156 million. ALDAR topped the trading rising 2.06% to 2.30. FGB also closed 6.78% higher at 7.40. Results are starting to be released including: DEYAAR 08Q4 profit Dh340m +62% RAKCC 08Q4 profit Dh40m +380% SALAM_BAH 08Q4 profit Dh28m -50% Dubai Financial MarketOn the Dubai Financial Market 13 shares advanced and 8 declined. Shares to gain included Air Arabia (AIRARABIA) 0.85 (1.19%), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) 1.67 (5.03%), Dubai Investment Company (DIC) 0.94 (2.17%), Shuaa Capital (SHUAA) 1.01 (5.20%) and Union Properties (UPP) 0.58 (1.75%). Losers included: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) 0.81 (7.95%), Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (DU) 1.81 (2.68%) and Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) 0.55 (1.78%) Abu Dhabi Securities ExchangeOn the ADX 23 shares advanced and 6 declined. In Banking gainers were lead by Commercial Bank International (CBI) 1.89 (9.88%), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 1.39 (2.96%) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) 2.52 (3.28%). Losers were Bank of Sharjah (BOS) 0.99 (6.60%) and National Bank Of Ras Al Khaimah (RAKBANK) 4.04 (0.25%). Realestate were all higher Aldar Properties (ALDAR) up 2.06%, Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) up 2.22% and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) up 7.95%. Energy was mixed; Aabar Energy (AABAR) down 2.92% and Dana Gas (DANA) up 3.77% and Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) up 7.95%. In Construction Arkan Building Materials (ARKAN) was up 1.30% and Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) limit up after releasing good results.
