UAE market news & discussions for 11 June 2007

Both DFM and ADSM finished lower today.
The volume of shares traded on the DFM was significantly lower today perhaps indicating the onset of slower summer trading. The volume of shares traded on ADSM remained comparatively high boosted by trading in ARKAN and RAKCC.

Dubai Financial Market

The DFM index finished the day at 4,402 a decline of 1.37%. In total 133 million shares changed hands worth 572 millon dirhams. Four shares advanced, one remained unchanged and sixteen declined.

The top gainer on reasonable volume was AMAN 22.45 (7.93%), no other shares recorded gains on significant volumes.

Top decliners on reasonable volume included Union Properties PJSC (UPP) 3.31 (3.49%), Aramex PJSC (ARMX) 2.62 (2.60%), Amlak Finance Company (AMLAK) 3.60 (2.17%), Tamweel PJSC (TAMWEEL) 4.41 (2%) and Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) 11.90 (1.2%).
SHUUA 4.50 fell by 12.45% on one half a million shares traded.

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

The ADSM index finished the day at 3,603 a decline of approx 1%. In total 589 million shares changed hands worth 1.2 billion dirhams. Twenty one shares advanced, three remained unchanged and sixteen declined.

Top gainers on reasonable volume included Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company (RAKCC) 2.18 (7.39%), ARKAN 1.78 (1.14%), Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) 1.73 (1.17%). The news of an oil discovery in Egypt for Dana may have helped.

Top decliners on reasonable volume included Oasis International Leasing Company PJSC (OILC) 1.38 (2.82%), Ras Al Khaimah Properties PJSC (RAKPROP) 1.75 (1.69%).
