UAE market news & discussions for 06 June 2007

DFM took another hit today while ADSM had a small rise, led by solid gains in Arkan Building Materials, Agthia, and Etisalat - after news of expansion plans and seeking to allow foreign ownership.

Taqa said they will not be considering foreign ownership this year. Arab Bank announced they were looking for AED 1.8 bn. Abu Dhabi Ship Building contracted to buy some missiles. National Real Estate had their AGM today.

Dubai Financial Market

Another tumble for the DFMGI today, down 1.3% to 4351 points with a total traded volume of 794m dhs. Emaar Properties PJSC (EMAAR) shares dominated trading with 250m dhs worth going through the books and a 1.3% fall to 11.80.

Losses of 2.6% for GULFNAV and National General Cooling Company PJSC (TABREED), 2.3% for AMAN and Aramex PJSC (ARMX), 2.2% for Tamweel PJSC (TAMWEEL) and Amlak Finance Company (AMLAK), 2.1% for Union Properties PJSC (UPP) and most others falling by less than 2%.The 4.7% drop for Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) was from just 3 trades.

Arabtec Holding PJSC (ARTC) the only actively traded stock to rise - by a mere 0.4%. Emirates Bank International Group (EBI) up 0.6% and GFH up 2% from a handful of trades.

Abu Dhabi Securities Market

ADSM rose 0.27% to 3577 from a solid 676m dhs of trading today although the number of losers outnumbered the gainers.

Emirates Telecommunications Company (ETISALAT) rose 3% to 19.55, ARKAN headed up the traded value table with a 3.3% rise to 1.59, AGTHIA was up 2.5%, and DRIVE performed very strongly with a 7.8% rise to 2.90. Other rises were small and/or on small volumes.

The losers included NBS down 5.3% to 2.70, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) down 3.8%, Ras Al Khaimah Properties PJSC (RAKPROP) down 3.5%, and Dana Gas PJSC (DANA) down 3%. Other falls were about 2% or less, or on thin trading.
