UAE market news & discussions for 05 March 2009Dubai Financial MarketBoth UAE markets settled lower today but volumes traded particularly in Dubai held up.
The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) index closed 1.67% down at 1,516 with 533 million shares traded worth Dh740 million.
Dubai Financial Market (DFM) easily lead the trading with 233 million shares changing hands and the stock closing 2.43% lower at 1.20. Arabtec (ARTC) was also down 1.93% as was Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) down 2.11% and Emaar Properties (EMAAR) down 0.49%.
Emarat Takaful Insurance (TAKAFUL-EM)ARAT was the leading gainer closing 2.56% higher at 1.20.
The ADX index closed just 0.25% down at 2,417 with 66 million shares traded worth Dh111 million.
In Banking Bank of Sharjah (BOS) was up 3.33% as was Finance House (FH) up 0.23%. WAHA closed lower by 1.37%.
All were higher in Realestate lead by Aldar Properties (ALDAR) up 2.17% and Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) up 1.38%.
For Energy Aabar Energy (AABAR) was up 1.16% and Dana Gas (DANA) up 1.72%, however, Abu Dhabi National Energy (TAQA) was down 2.14%.
in Telecoms Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) closed unchanged at 12.40.
