UAE market news & discussions for 08 April 2010

UAE stocks ended the week in the red although a handful of stocks in Dubai edged up slightly, including Aramex, Drake & Scull, Du, and Air Arabia, while Union National Bank in Abu Dhabi had a good rise. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1400 UAE time, DP World is down 0.92%, and Depa and Damas are unchanged.

    Dubai stocks fell 1.9% to 1765 points from turnover of AED 354m with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the only stock trading more than AED 100m worth, down 2.1% to 3.80. Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) was the worst loser, down 7.8% to 2.35, Dubai Investment Company (DIC) fell 2.7%, Dubai Financial Market (DFM) 2.6%, and the other losers were down less than 2% or on low trading. Arab International Logistics (ARMX) rose 1.2%, and the other five gainers were up less than 1% or on low trading.

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

    Abu Dhabi stocks fell 0.74% to 2823 points from turnover of AED 100m, with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) the most active stock, down 3.5% to 4.45 from AED 31m worth of deals. Waha Capital (OILC) was the worst of the more active losers, down 3.8% to 0.76, Sorouh Real Estate (SOROUH) fell 2.4%, and the other losers were down less than 2% or on low volumes. Only two out of the seven gainers traded more than AED 1m worth: Union National Bank (UNB), up 5.6%, and Dana Gas (DANA), up 1.1%.

    UAE market news & discussions for 07 April 2010

    Most UAE stocks fell, while First Gulf Bank and National Bank of Abu Dhabi were the only gainers of any note. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1615 UAE time, DP World is up 2.3%, and Depa is unchanged.

    Dubai stocks fell 2.1% to 1800 points from turnover of AED 514m worth with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the most active stock, down 3.0% to 3.88 from AED 203m worth of trading. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) was the only other company trading more than AED 100m worth, down 2.5% to 1.92. Arab International Logistics (ARMX) was the worst loser, down 5.6% to 1.70, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) fell 3.9%, Ektitab Holding (EKTTITAB) 3.6% on low volumes, Arabtec (ARTC) and Islamic Arab Insurance (IAIC) 3.4%, and the other losers fell less than 3%. There were only three gainers, International Financial Advisers (IFA) 15% limit up at 5.75, Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) up 1.6%, and Ajman Islamic Bank (AJMANBANK) up 1.2%.

    Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange

    Abu Dhabi stocks were down slightly by 0.13% to 2844 points from turnover of AED 111m with Aldar Properties (ALDAR) the most active stock, down 1.3% to 4.56 from AED 31m worth of trading. Methaq Islamic Insurance (METHAQ) was the worst loser, down 5.4% to 2.78, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) fell 3.0%, and the other losers fell less than 2% or on low volumes. There were nine gainers but only First Gulf Bank (FGB), up 1.1%, and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), up 0.42%, saw trading of more than AED 1m. Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) was unchanged at 10.60.

    UAE market news & discussions for 06 April 2010

    UAE indexes rose slightly, although in Dubai that was due mostly to a limit up close for Emirates NBD while most other stocks were in the red. On the Nasdaq Dubai at 1430 UAE time, DP World is up 0.95%, and Depa is up 2.7%.

    Dubai stocks were up just 0.12% to 1839 points from trading worth AED 374m, with Emaar Properties (EMAAR) the only stock trading more than AED 100m worth, down 0.25% to 4.00 from AED 122m. Emirates NBD (ENBD) was the top gainer, 5% limit up at 3.07, and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (DU) was the only other gainer trading more than AED 1m of shares, up 1.05% to 2.89. Arab International Logistics (ARMX) was the worst of the more active losers, down 2.2%, Union Properties (UPP) fell 2.0%, and the other losers fell less than 2% or on turnover of less than AED1m.

    Abu Dhabi stocks rose 0.39% to 2848 points from lower turnover of AED 98m, with Dana Gas (DANA) the most active stock, up 1.1% to 0.90 from AED 17m worth. Ras Al Khaimah Cement (RAKCC) was the top gainer, up 2.1% to 0.99 from greater than usual turnover, First Gulf Bank (FGB) rose 1.4%, National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was up 1.3%, and the other three gainers were up less than 1%, including Emirates Telecom (ETISALAT) up 0.95%. Qatar Telecom (QTEL) was the worst loser, down 3.3% but from just a couple of small trades, Waha Capital (OILC) fell 3.3% also, Ras Al Khaimah Properties (RAKPROP) was down 1.85%, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) 1.5%, and the other losers fell less than 1% or on low trading.
